Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine the improvement in the quality of the process and the quality of writing fable story text using discovery learning methods through serial media in class VII A students of Islamic Middle School Nurul Ulum Kemiri, Malo District, Bojonegoro Regency. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the subjects of class VII A as many as 28 students. This research was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of four components, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The data collection method uses the method of tests, observations, interviews and photo documentation. Data analysis techniques using comparative descriptive techniques. The results showed that the use of discovery learning method through serial media can improve the quality of the learning process of writing fable story texts as seen from changes in student attitudes on several aspects. Improving the quality of writing results can be seen from the acquisition of the average value in the pre-cycle, cycle I, and cycle II. In pre-cycle only reached 70.93 with less categories. In cycle I it increased to 75 in the good category and in cycle II it again increased to 81 in the excellent category. The increase that occurred from cycle I to cycle II reached 93% completeness.
