Abstract

Abstract This study aims to analyze the effect of the PBL model on students' mathematical problem solving abilities. The research method used is descriptive quantitative meta-analysis by taking a sample of 12 scientific articles. Research data collection was carried out by identifying several journals through Google Scholar. The results of the meta-analysis research show that the PBL learning model has a large effect (effect size) on various subjects, namely the effect size data based on the overall category of 0.197, at the level of education the largest effect size is obtained in high school, namely 0.268, while in the location of the region it is obtained. The effect size is 0.268 on the island of Java, and based on the dependent variable in the study, the result is an effect size of 0.242 on the ability to solve mathematical problems. So it can be concluded that learning using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model has a major influence on students' mathematical problem solving abilities.
