Abstract

In the current era of technology, there are many things that can be used for learning media, especially when the worsening COVID-19 outbreak causes everyone to do activities at home. One example of media is movie, which can be seen anywhere and there is education in it. This research is intended (1) To find out 18 Character Education Values by KEMENDIKNAS in “Big Brother” movie by Ka-Wai Kam and (2) The benefits after watching it. This research is categorized as a type of qualitative research using a descriptive approach. The data from this study comes from “Big Brother” movie, both dialogue and conflict between characters. Then, in collecting data the researcher used documentation and observation non-participant. Next, the researcher analyzed the data by using content analysis technique. The results that can be showed from this research are (1) There are 13 Character Education Values by KEMENDIKNAS that found in “Big Brother” movie namely Appreciating Achievements, Creative, Curiosity, Democratic, Discipline, Environmental Care, Friendly/Communicative, Hard working, Honesty, Love peace, National Spirit, Responsibility, Sociality. And (2) There are 3 benefits after watching Big Brother movie namely as Medium of Education, Medium of Entertainment, and Source of Inspiration.
