Abstract

Abstract English is important for communication and grammar become one of the subjects to learn. The difficulties that students face in understanding the grammatical rules especially passive form. With many different pattern of tense that they have to remember in active form, the student were confuse because too many tenses that they have to learn also they have to remember some pettern in passive form. The purpose of the study is to investigate and improve student’s grammar on active and passive voice. By using action research the researcher can get the data from pre test and post test, in pre test the students in the second grade of Islahiyah Senior High School in Kalitidu are still difficult to acquire the Minimal Mastery Criterion level. 19 of 23 students acquired the score below 75 (seventy five), and all students of 23 acquire the score more than minimal mastery criterion after do post test. The finding describe motion and song method improve student’s grammar on active and passive voice. The implementation of this research facilitate the teacher to be able to communicate learning more effectively and fun, and make it easier for students to memorize material and understand the use of tenses in active and passive voice form and hopefully can help to learn grammar in active-passive voice.
